This Privacy Policy explains what information Tristate Date ("we", "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to this Policy.
Information We Collect
- Account info: email, password (hashed), authentication provider IDs.
- Profile info: name/handle, age, state, bio, interests, photos.
- Activity: swipes, matches, messages, settings.
- Technical: IP address, device/browser type, log data, cookies and similar technologies.
How We Use Information
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
- Show your profile to other users and facilitate matches and messages.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our rights.
- Send service-related communications (you can opt out of marketing emails).
Sharing
We share information with: (a) other users, limited to what your profile and actions make visible; (b) service providers (hosting, analytics, auth, email) under confidentiality obligations; (c) authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, or property; and (d) parties to a corporate transaction (merger, acquisition, asset sale). We do not sell your personal information.
Your Choices and Rights
You can edit or delete profile content and delete your account at any time from your profile page. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal information, and to opt out of certain uses. To exercise these rights, email privacy@tristatedate.com.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know, delete, correct, and limit use of sensitive personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not "sell" or "share" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
EEA/UK residents (GDPR/UK-GDPR): our lawful bases are contract performance, legitimate interests, consent, and legal obligation. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Data Retention
We retain account information while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Backups may persist for a limited time after deletion.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No system is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact privacy@tristatedate.com so we can remove it.
International Transfers
Information may be processed in the United States or other jurisdictions. We rely on appropriate safeguards where required.
Changes
We will post updates to this Policy here with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated through the Service.
