Tristate Date does not conduct criminal background checks on users. Please use the same caution online that you would meeting any stranger.

Online

• Don't share financial information, your home address, or your full last name early on.
• Never send money, gift cards, or crypto — even if there's a sob story. This is the most common dating scam.
• Be skeptical of anyone who refuses to video chat or always has an excuse to move off the app.
• Report and block anyone who makes you uncomfortable.

Meeting in person

• Meet in a public place the first few times.
• Tell a friend where you'll be and when you expect to be home.
• Arrange your own transportation.
• Stay sober enough to look out for yourself.
• If something feels wrong, leave. Trust your gut.
